Armor of Hope Ministries was born out of the passion of Laura Ross for the Honduran people after she had served as a chaperone on a church sponsored mission trip for teens in 1998. Upon leaving the country she knew she would be returning. Since 1998, Laura has made many trips to Honduras to serve and share the Gospel of Christ. As God began putting the pieces together, it was clear that Laura was being lead to serve the poor in the remote areas of Honduras. In January 2004 Steve, Laura’s husband joined her, and he too realized God’s calling to this ministry. Born out of four years of working with other mission groups and doing some independant survey trips, Armor of Hope Ministries, a non-profit 501(c)(3), began in December of 2004. Laura and Steve had the desire to establish an organization that would help Christian efforts become more effective to the Honduran people they are serving.

In December 2006, a church was planted in El Sauce. This young church now meets in a school classroom and in homes, but will soon outgrow both these meeting places. They are evangelistic in nature and reach out in service to the community of El Sauce. Victor Navarro serves as the minister for this congregation along with his wife Miriam. They will both graduate from the Bible school located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras in December 2007. They are presently supported by Armor of Hope Ministries.
